Hypnotherapy

All human relationships are built on trust, Altogether Therapy Clinic embeds congruence through its values and behaviours; encouraging autonomy to clients on an individual basis, working unanimously to offer the correct level of therapy.

Each session will vary depending on the client and their reason for seeking therapy.

Areas covered:

During the initial consultation, we will discuss your needs and the areas you’d like to cover. This includes  discussing any triggers alongside any areas of struggle.

We will work together to identify the root causes and use hypnotherapy techniques to support the achievement of your goals and aspirations.

We will work together to identify your modality- this means that the therapist is able to adapt their approach and script to fully suit your needs, personality and style.

After the consultation, we will discuss your treatment plan. Depending on the topic, you may have some work to do between sessions- for example food diaries or stress workbooks.

Some people find it beneficial to practice self hypnosis between sessions- if this is part of your treatment plan, you will be offered a recording to continue with hypnosis between appointments.

Future appointments will consist of bespoke sessions, with screeds written by the therapist following on from the initial consultation. Further treatment plans will be discussed at the end of each session, with each additional appointment being tailored to your needs. The number of sessions will vary from client to client, this will be defined by the areas covered and the client as an individual.

Many believe that hypnotherapy consists of a click of the fingers that enables the therapist to control the mind and actions of the client- this is derived from  stage hypnosis and is incredibly different to clinical hypnosis, in which the therapist works with the client to overcome particular issues. In addition, an ethical and fully qualified therapist provides a comfortable environment and enabling approach facilitating a sense of self control for the client.

Hypnosis enables the client to reach a fully relaxed state- this means that the client remains awake for the session, while many believe that hypnosis enables sleep. This means that the client has the ability to choose to come out of hypnosis whenever they wish to do so.

The client is aware of their surroundings during trance, while the therapist may suggest ignoring background noise in a bid to increase relaxation, the client could easily choose to remain listening to the background noise should they wish to do so.

Hypnosis and trance is reached by many on a day to day basis. While many  believe they are day dreaming or 'on auto pilot' for example when driving a familiar route- one may suddenly find themselves at their destination without memory of the journey itself. Research shows this is because trance is a natural state easily reached during relaxed mental state- it is experienced daily by many with little to no thought process around it.

Hypnosis can cover a range of topics, therefore if the area you wish to work on is not listed above, please get in touch to discuss with the therapist who can support or refer you as appropriate.
